Choosing my Destination
I started to figure out where to go next by talking to lots of different people, networking, and getting stuck into the world of work. This helped me to understand how many different roles exist in so many different industries. As I started to hear real life stories and understand the variety of paths that are open, I realised that start-ups are a great place to get loads of exposure to lots of different roles and responsibilities. I also don't believe in there just being one destination, there are loads, so don't worry too much about finding that "one thing" that you want to do for work.
Extra Curricular & Work Experience
Lots of music clubs: orchestra, choir, samba band; debating club, school show - all helped me stay engaged with lots of different activities, develop a variety of skills and build relationships with lots of different people.
Skills I've developed
Relationship building, Commercial Awareness, Communication - presentation skills and written. Leadership and team work - ensuring everyone is working with the same direction of travel.
My Advice
There's no wrong path! It really doesn't matter if you don't know what to do when you grow up. I'm in my early 30s and still don't know!
