Choosing my Destination
Mr Hamilton, Mrs Kennedy (nee Dawson), Mr Hooper, Mrs Corden, Miss Notman and Mrs Richardson were my favourite teachers at school. They helped me so much getting into University I would not have been able to do it without them.
Extra Curricular & Work Experience
Dancing, Sports Leaders and Trash Fashion Show - all these activities helped me stay focused at school and feel like I had a purpose.
Skills I've developed
I learned how to communicate and be a leader at High School. This has led me to a really happy and successful career in teaching. High School and the relationships I formed with my teachers has helped me so much when communicating with parents and peers in my job. They have helped me to lead by example and made me the teacher I am today. I like to think I have a little bit of all of my favourite teachers in my own teaching style today.
My Advice
Just be kind to absolutely everyone - it’s all that really matters when you’re an adult. I wish I knew that high school is one of the best parts of your life and you shouldn’t wish it away - I would do anything to be 15 again!
Teaching is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Working with children is so rewarding and I really feel like I have found my place in the world through my job.
