Choosing your destination
My mum provided me with lots of advice when determining my future. This was particularly helpful as she worked within the planning department at a local council. A careers advisor at Stirling High School also provided lots of advice in terms of various routes to take when deciding a career path, this definitely helped to lead me in the correct direction.
Extra Curricular & Work Experience
At school I was a part of the hockey and swimming club. This definitely helped grow my confidence in terms of communication and teamwork. With regard to work experience, I worked part time at Allanwater Homes whilst also juggling my university degree. By having multiple responsibilities this helped me majorly develop good time management, work ethic and prioritisation.
Skills I've developed
Throughout my 4 years at university I greatly developed my communication skills as lots of work is collaborative and to gain the best results good team work is essential. Whilst working at Allanwater Homes I have developed organisational skills as I have planned events such as open weekends for new housing sites which require a lot of attention to detail.
My Advice
My advice is to be confident. Believe in your abilities and trust that you have what it takes to succeed. Whilst also embracing challenges as opportunities to grow and learn.
